USA Solar Stores are not franchises. We share a strong belief in fairness, environmental responsibility and adapting a policy where all can be successful. Through a licensing agreement, independently owned and operated stores work in a collaborative manner, allowing store owners to pursue their interest and belief in energy and sustainable living. There are fewer restrictions and no on-going fees as with a “franchise”.

The Solar Stores are independently owned and operated, and work collaboratively.

Successful USA Solar Stores are operated by people from all walks of life. Characteristics of successful storeowners include: good business and communication/customer service skills; comfortable in a retail environment; enjoy working in a cooperative environment where sharing ideas and expertise is encouraged; and the emotional/financial support of a spouse/partner.

Storeowners are not required to have experience with solar or other sustainable products, but they must have an interest in the area and be willing to learn.
